Bookseller Link was conceived, designed and developed by husband and wife team, Malcolm and Yin-Fun Allaway, who run Maweb, a website development business in Kington, rural Herefordshire. Whilst Kington is is home to one well-established antiquarian bookshop, a number of smaller booksellers can also be found within the town and surrounding area. Kington is also close to the amazing book town of Hay on Wye - a second hand book buyers paradise
Bookseller Link grew out of discussions with some smaller second-hand book sellers who were looking for an easy to use, low cost way to sell their books on-line. The booksellers told us they wanted their own updateable website to promote their business and have easy to manage online stock lists with a simple ecommerce payment gateway.
Some of the comments that came up during the discussions were:
We listened to these points, looked at what is already available and decided to release Bookseller Link. Our early users tell us that it does what it sets out to do - provide an easy to update, distinctive e-commerce platform for smaller booksellers.
As a web development business, Maweb has designed and programmed a number of varied websites for clients around Britain. Sites developed vary from smaller business brochure websites to large, bespoke e-commerce systems.
